Hi All. It’s been a long time since I wrote so here I am starting my return to blogging! If this is your first time here, please check out what my blog is about here.
Life has just been busy and kind of got in the way a little bit. It’s funny how life gets like that sometimes isn’t it, but when you look back you don’t know where all the time has gone and what was filling up your time. Everything goes by in such a blur and before you know it another month or two passes by.
While I ease myself back into a routine, I’m going to try and get a post out a few times a month. I’ll keep the blog up to date with fun things we have done as a family, as well as plans we have for the year ahead of us.
It was Valentine’s Day yesterday. Did any of you do anything nice to celebrate? We don’t put too much pressure on the day. There are so many other days to celebrate throughout the year and Valentine’s Day just seems like another reason to spend money unnecessarily. That being said, we do get a card and a little gift to acknowledge the day.
This year I have seen so many photos of people decorating their homes for Valentine’s Day. Some people go to a lot of effort and their homes look beautiful.
I wanted to do something similar, but also didn’t want to go too crazy and spend a lot of money. In the end I just got a few fake flowers, some heart confetti and some sweets and chocolate to put out on our kitchen island. I was pleased with the outcome. It was such a simple way to brighten up our kitchen and everyone enjoyed the treats.
This weekend we have a birthday meal to go to. We’re going to an Italian restaurant. I love pizza and pasta so I am looking forward to it. I can’t decide whether to choose pizza or have pasta with some garlic bread. Ooh, decisions decisions!
We don’t have any other plans this weekend so will hopefully just enjoy some quiet family time and if the weather is as nice as the forecast, we’ll get outside for some fresh air and sunshine. It’s looking promising so far; it’s sunny outside with blue sky which makes a very welcome change.
Does anybody else think a little bit of sunshine seems to put everyone in a better mood? I certainly feel happier and brighter when the sun is shining and you can see blue sky. Maybe it’s the thought of lighter nights and being able to spend more time out in the garden, but as soon as Christmas is over I just want sunshine.
In my next post I’ll share how the birthday meal goes and what else we get up to. I’m excited for my return to blogging and hopefully I will be able to keep up to date with everything.
